Respiratory diseases are medical illnesses that affect the organs and tissues that make up the respiratory system, making it difficult for organisms to exchange gases. Various causes, ranging from infection to air pollution, may cause these illnesses. As the globe evolves due to numerous innovations in the industrial area, air pollutants have grown, resulting in an increase in the number of diseases transmitted via the air. Although there are drugs available on the market to treat these ailments, there are also numerous plants that naturally contain components that may be utilized to cure them. The goal of this study is to learn about the numerous plants used to treat respiratory problems across the world. To support this study, a thorough literature search was conducted using many databases. All of the data was evaluated and the plants were categorized according to the types of respiratory illnesses for which they are employed. According to the findings of the study, there are several medicinal and traditional plants that may be utilized to treat practically all respiratory system problems. As a result, there may be alternatives to the often expensive synthetic drugs on the market. We may use traditional herbal medicine to substitute synthetic medications, which will also assist to reduce the negative effects that are often experienced after using commercial pharmaceuticals.
